Rocket Phonics Astro supports older pupils who need additional opportunities to develop and consolidate their phonics knowledge. Combining age-appropriate content with accessible decodable reading, the series helps students strengthen essential reading skills without relying on books designed for much younger children.

Through engaging stories and carefully controlled text, Astro provides meaningful opportunities to apply phonics knowledge, practise decoding and develop reading fluency. The series is designed to support reading intervention and help learners build the confidence and independence needed to progress in their literacy journey.

Not every student develops reading fluency at the same pace. For students in Years 3–6 who need additional support, age-appropriate decodable readers provide valuable opportunities to strengthen essential phonics skills while engaging with content suited to their interests and maturity.
