Practical teaching notes are included at the back of each book. Bill went for a walk. He went over a river, up a hill and into a wood - all the time followed by a hungry bear who was sniffing his lunch! The humorous illustrations expand the simple text, showing the bear's attempts to reach Bill's sandwiches on each step of the journey. Children will be able to point out the bear, although Bill can't see him at all. A map of Bill and the bear's journey is shown at the end of the book, so children can recap the story. Red A (Band 2A ) books offer predictable text with familiar objects and actions, cobmined with simple story development.
