The Farms for City Children charity was founded by Michael and his wife to give city children the chance to spend a week on a working farm. This book is an account of a child's stay, told in the form of letters home and illustrated with photographs of animals and children on location at the farm. Humorous and engaging, it conveys the fun and excitement of working closely with animals. It ends with an index and a timetable of a day's events on the farm, so children can recap the story. Turquoise (Band 7) books offer literary language and extended descriptions, with longer sentences and a wide range of unfamiliar terms.
