Clare is a former primary school teacher, turned children's writer. She is delighted her books mean she can continue to inspire children to love language, themselves and the world around them. Inspired by her time as a mental health champion, Clare founded Books That Help, to gather picture books touching on a range of issues that help when the words are hard to find. When Clare isn't fulfilling her dream of writing for children, she is helping aspiring writers do the same. I am Nathalie Ortega, a professional freelance illustrator with years of experience in creating art for children's books. I have drawn for as long as I can remember, I was always making doodles, modelling with clay, creating cloth dolls... And still do! My goal is to bring ideas to life in a clear and fun way. I love my work and I hope this is reflected in my illustrations. Now I work from my home studio where I live with my husband, my son and our three cats.
