M. Elizabeth Sargent is associate professor of English and writing coordinator at the University of Alberta. She is (as M. Elizabeth Wallace) editor of Part-Time Academic Employment in the Humanities (MLA, 1984). She publishes on the teaching of writing and on Lawrence. Her work has appeared in the journals College English, ADE Bulletin, Profession, Women's Review of Books, and the D. H. Lawrence Review and in the books The Challenge of D. H. Lawrence (U of Wisconsin P, 1990), D. H. Lawrence in Italy and England (Macmillan, 1999), and Writing the Body in D. H. Lawrence (Greenwood, 2001). Garry Watson is professor of English at the University of Alberta.
