Chronic illnesses suck. There's no getting around that, and this book isn't going to try to tell you that they don't. But what it will help you do is find the best ways to live with it-and rock your life no matter the circumstances. As our understanding of health grows every day, more and more people are being diagnosed with chronic illnesses, from celiac to IBD to diabetes . . . the list goes on. And many of these illnesses first manifest in adolescence. It's hard for anyone to cope with the prospect of a long-term illness, let alone someone also dealing with the stressors of school, friends, and growing up. It can feel totally overwhelming! This book is here to help. Not a memoir or a sermon or a call for toxic positivity-instead this is a book of practical information, reassurance, advice, and guidance from a clinical psychologist who also suffers from chronic illness. Some of the advice might sound familiar, and some will be new. But either way, you'll learn a little about yourself and a lot about how to cope. So come join the club and build a life that works for you.
