Translated by Wurundjeri Woi wurrung Elder, Aunty Gail Smith, Yingora Yingora Wayibu Durt: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is a part of a series of classic children’s books that translates well-loved nursery rhymes into the ancient Woi wurrung language of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people—a group indigenous to what is also known as the Yarra River Valley region. This book is an adaptation of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, the classic English lullaby deriving from early-19th century author Jane Taylor in her collection of poems, Rhymes for the Nursery, in 1806.
